Registered for the Tough Mudder

I registered for the Tough Mudder today: Saturday April 9, 2011, 10AM start wave.

Now I just need to train for it and raise the money and stuff...

The Kickoff

Okay, so here's the kick-off post.  I'm blogging about my training for two reasons (and despite my aversion to all types of social media): 1) people always ask me how I lost all of the weight over the last year so I'll write about what I did and what I'm currently doing and 2) I'm raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) as part of my participation in the Tough Mudder race in April 2011.

So what I'll be posting here:
  • physical training-related stuff
  • nutrition (this is more just for reference; I know I have a rather unusual diet compared to most of the population)
  • goals (I like numbers/statistics, and I'm a scientist so I keep track of all sorts of things related to training)
  • fundraising updates (and possibly other charitable activities--or maybe not, I'm not torn between wanting to talk about this so as to raise awareness and instigate charitable activities in others and not wanting to talk about it so as to remain anonymous)
The numbers for today:
Training: 15 minutes moderate (4.5-5.0 mph, 0-4% incline) cardio on the treadmill, knee strengthening workout/stretching as per physical therapy (but on both sides), and the Business Travel workout from my iFitness App (I'm at the APS)
Food-O-Meter Rating: Horrible as I'm eating out every meal while here; also definitely not vegan
